My daughter left July 6. She is my first child to leave home and the first to join the military. I had/have no idea what to expect but have found this site helpful in finding answers to questions I didn't even know I had.

My child shipped on Tuesday, July 26th and today we received the "kid in a box".  The journey has begun.

My daughter shipped the same day, but no box yet.

My daughter shipped July 27 and we recived her box of belongings August 2nd

Thursday day we got the form letter with her address ,ship#, an division #

I am down in Georgia with a medical emergency with my son, but hubby did say that we got her "box" and form letter. I also make the motel reservations. Just a few steps closer to PIR!!!!

The form letter and "Box" is all that we have received.  I'm hoping that this coming week is the week for a real letter.  Back when my son was in boot camp, my mail day was Thursday, so I have my fingers crossed. Just remember though, "No News is Good News"  I mailed her labels that I have made up with her address on them and also our address on them.  That way she can just put the labels on her envelopes instead of having to address them.  This saves time with writing letters

Jan,  My daughter left/called re arrival this past Tuesday 11/14.   Not sure why I am so apprehensive...but I am.  Would you mind sharing how your daughter did in Boot Camp?
