I've been in the military for over 20 years, and am familiar with the "hurry up and wait" aspect, but the timeline seems excessively drawn out for this ceremony. Why is that? Guests should be in their seats by 0845, but the Divisions don't arrive until 0920? Families wait 35 minutes for the recruits to arrive? Is the "arrival honors" when the official party arrives? If so, that's an hour families are waiting for the official party to roll in and start the ceremony. Yikes!
so why don't you watch one of the recorded PIRs and you can watch the events as they occur- http://www.navydads.com/page/previously-recorded-pass-in-review-videos

I don't know...ceremony starts at 0900 sharp! Ends at 1035. Hour and 35 minutes doesn't seem so long. Heck, I've been in church services that have lasted longer!
