Recruit graduation is known as Pass-In-Review. It is a formal military ceremony which honors your Sailor's hard work and dedication to a new way of life. It also ties together the future of the Navy with our long-held Naval traditions and customs. You should receive a letter from your Sailor including detailed information for graduation, a parking pass, a brochure of base information, and directions to base.

All guests over the age of 12 must show valid identification (photo ID, Social Security card, or birth certificate will suffice). Children under two years of age do NOT need to be on the access list. The graduating Sailor is responsible for identifying those individuals to be placed on the access list. Please coordinate with your Sailor to determine who will be attending graduation.

The maximum number of guests a Sailor may invite is four. Unfortunately, due to limited seating availability, we regret that we cannot provide additional seats.
The Metra train station offers a stop at Great Lakes, which is approximately 1/4 mile from the graduation drill hall. Access to Naval Station Great Lakes has been greatly modified in response to our heightened security posture. Guests should be prepared to have camera bags, purses, etc. subject to search by security personnel.

We encourage you to take pictures of your Sailor in the ceremonial drill hall, but ask that you refrain from using cameras or other digital recording devices outside of the drill hall while onboard RTC.

There have been many question about trying to get addtional seats...all I can say is good luck...some have had addtional people allowed to enter, but I've never heard about anyone being turned away....but that is a big risk to tak if you've flown in from distant points............
We just got back do not worry about that we needed 6 tickets .Get there at 6:30 they will pull you aside in another line if you have to many in the car, you have to have 1 seat belt per person. They make the seat beltless people get out and go through another line while you take the car and the people in it with seatbelts on to be checked out. You give them your drivers licenses they check them out and send you to the parking lot. The family members that got out at the gate they will probably be sitting down way before you, because after you park you go through a small building where you get checked again. They have a list of the family members that your son or daughter sent you on it. They want all the drivers licenses or ids again . For us they looked at the ids looked on the list we had two different people not on the list ,he looked up an smiled and said have a nice day. We walked to the grad. building. You will wait about an hour or two before it starts but its great when it does. Hope this helps need any more info. curthale2424@msn.com
