Navy Dads

I know there are thousands of our kids out there that need our help while serving, and we all would love to be able to help each and everyone of them. But tonight I was told about a young family that has just transfered from Japan. Their names are Erin and Todd Harding. They are a young Marine family with two kids, 1 girl 6 years old and 1 boy 3 years old. After arriving to base they were told their belongings would not arrive for another 8 to 10 weeks. While this was a disappointment to them they took it in stride. While trying to take things day by day waiting they were out on a bike ride when they were hit by a drunk driver. Todd is doing well but Erin substained more injuries and required surgery to her pelvic. After surgery she developed an infection. This alone is hard to deal with. But added to not having your personal belongings and trying to take care of two young kids while worrying about ones spouse would be harder to bare. Through all this hardship they have not asked for anything. But we are trying to make life a little easier to deal with during their time of need.

Imagine just moving and not knowing anyone, little lone not having your personal belongings that you are use to having on a day to day basis and have this situation to deal with while trying to keep life normal and stress free for the kids? I know we can't help her heal, but we can try to make daily life a little easier to bare.

Our son and daughter in law are cooking dinner for them this Sunday since they have no way to cook. And a few other families are also helping. But we are talking weeks they will be without. So thats where we come in....... We are trying to collect whatever we can to help them make their transition a little smoother. I know times are hard for all of us and the economy isn't in the best shape, but a little goes a long way. If all of us were to send in a small donation think of how much that would help!

Great idea Tim how about you post a address or some way we can help this great family direct , i am sure some of us out there my self included have some good clothes we could send , also find out what they really need to get them by .
postage to the family in my opinion would be worth it what ever it will cost.
The weekend is almost here so keep all of us informed on what we can do to help !!
I am currently awaiting an address from my daughter-in-law Rex as soon as I get it I will post it on here for any and all to see. My wife went to work last night trying to find some things for the kids and things to help brighten up Erin's day and stay in the hospital. I know that this is a Marine family but I just had to post something on hre as even though Todd is not in the Navy i knew there are good people that are in Navydads that don't care what branch of the armed forces he is in. I don't want to see anyone suffer no matter their choice.
