Hi James. Morgan's talking FMF in his letter. Can you tell me what that mean's and, if by chance, what he's going to be doing? I know that may be a lot to ask, but if you could tell me what FMF stands for, I'd really appreciate it. Hope you had a good day!

James
Thank U for your answers. I showed them to his wife and it makes her feel a lot better. She is going to stay at a hotel (I think the hotel is called Suburban Hotel) near the base (about 1 mile) in Pensacola Fl for about 2-3 weeks, after he arrives there. She wants to spend as much time as she and the kids can with him. I've heard that he will be allowed off base to visit her but unsure of how much time and if it will be overnight. We will help set her up to b sure everything is okay before we fly back home. The only thing is if he graduates on Aug 28 or 29th will he go right to school? Any imput you have on these would be great.
Thanks

Cindy - I don't mean to overstep my bounds but I believe I can answer that for you. I teach school and so I deal with this almost daily. Breaking a person down doesn't mean killing their self-esteem it is letting them know who is boss. If a person with a low self-esteem gets in there, if anything, they will feel better because 9 times out of 10 they won't be causing trouble so therefore not being 'yelled' at. Also it is a team environment, the whole division gets the same treatment, therefore work together or continue to get yelled at. So once they are in unison with each other everyone is feeling proud, accomplished, and driven :). Win-Win. I hope I explained it well, if not Evan (James) will correct me ;).

Hey James! Have another question. I have struggled, from the very beginning, with the term 'break you down'. What if a kid goes into the Navy with an already very low self-esteem, and then is yelled at from the onset for no reason. He's already feeling like he's not worth much, how do they build him up? My former martial arts instructor always said 'It is better to build than to destroy'. Where is that fine line between break you down and destroy? How do the officers know when enough is enough?

Greetings,
My son Robert left for Basic June 30th Div 312 Ship 14. He is 23 yrs old married with two beautiful daughters ages 2 1/2 yrs old and 3 months. His school ABH is in Pensacola Fl. Will his wife be able to stay on base with him at school?? If not will he be able to spend time with her, if she rents a short term place there?? Does anyone have any suggestions on short term places near Pensacola base. Thanks for any advice

In A-School do they keep all the same rates (ABE, AT, etc.) in the same dorms that correspond to their ratings?
