My son just graduated boot camp Friday, as soon as he gets his orders he will be heading to Pensacola for IT training. He is really excited and we are very proud of him and for him. Hopfully he will leave for A school this Wednesday.

As everyone says, what a change. You will be proud. Depending on his likes they have all types of careers. Our fingers are crossed. Nick starts orientation today, at Corry Station so we will see what the next weeks have in store.

All you got was a FEW phone calls? That sounds great, better than waiting for the letters. Really excited for him, and his attitude is good. Even if for whatever reason the IT job doesn't work out, he still is excited to get 'out into the fleet!'

Well the time will go by fast. Hope it happens for him. You will enjoy the whole area. Every week waiting for that letter or letters. Don't worry, the last two weeks they are busy. All we got were a few phone calls. Depending on their RDC On how long.

Hi Mike, Cody graduates 9/2/10. He's lucky in that it is a day early (Thursday) due to the Holiday weekend. Really looking forward to it. We're flying in to Milwaukee Wednesday afternoon, staying at Navy Lodge. Still don't know if he kept his IT rating-his classifications was last Monday, so I have to wait yet another week to get his next letter! The wait is killing me!! Good luck to your Son. Keep me informed how it goes for him.

Hi Paul, our son just arrived there and He said I quote, its cool. Will pass more when we know. When does your son graduate RTC?

Hi Mike,
Joined your IT school group as my son is/was supposed to be going there after graduating BC. I'll find out tomorrow (God willing) if I receive a letter from him. He signed up/contracted with the Navy for the IT rating, but there is some question as to whether or not that is the job he'll end up with. If he gets what he signed up for, I'll be a contributor here!! Good luck to all future IT sailors!!
