Jared, thanks! I take it you (your sailor) has had some experience here. Did your sailor get the promo at the new command right away? Thanks again, I will definitely advise him.

Bill,

Crazy thought... make sure your son has acopy of the page 13 he signed to extend a year and recieve IT3. He'll need that at his new command. It will be a big assist in getting him PO Indoc and appointed to his new rank.

Congratulations to your daughter Mark! Where will she be stationed?

Just learned that my daughter has received her new orders and got a destroyer. This is what she wanted because as an IT she can learn all the areas involved and not just one. Also, she will be up here with her hubby, another Navy IT, and my new grandson.

John, sorry, I thought I had responded to you. You never know about the Navy. There has been several conflicting stories in the past regarding a number of different issues. His instructor told him he would get the E-4 when he arrives in Norfolk. My son went in as an E-3 so I don't believe he has to be in for 1 1/2 years to make E-4.....but I am not sure. Thanks for the kind words and the warning. If this is not the case about the E-4 I will be better prepared!

Bob, no problem! I understand completely. I go sometimes several days without being able to check in here.
Well half of that sounds good....the fishing! Hope you are successful in the catch! Thanks for the kind words! Likewise, glad your son is doing well! Hope you guys have a great Thanksgiving with him in Pensacola and an even better time at Christmas! My son should be home Friday or Saturday. We can't wait! Hard to believe he has been gone almost 7 months.

Congratulations Bill! Sorry I did not get back to you sooner. I have been very busy at work and fishing. Striped bass have been passing by the south shore of Long Island, so all my spare time has been spent on the sand. That is great news about your sailor!

My son is doing great. He passed his second A+ exam this past Friday and starts his CCNA training at the end of this week. We will be visiting him for Thanksgiving and he will be coming home for Christmas.

Bill tell him not to get discouraged if they make him wait till he gets his full time in meaning a year and a half that's what they did to my son before he officially got his e4. Bravo zulu to him. Norfolk is nice that's where my son is at.
