Go for it! You will get to meet an extremely competent crew that is getting home after many months at sea - I met Abe in Mayport last August and it was awesome. The racks are kinda small - but so what - my kid lived out of one for 8 months - two days or 5 ain't bad.
Please consider OPSEC.

I got to go aboard the USS Reagan (CVN-76) last year with my son from Honolulu to San Diego and it was one of the coolest things I have ever done! I would do it again in a heartbeat!

I went on the Stennis TC in Feb 2012. It was amazing and the best experience I ever had. To take one on the Ike, Wow! Do not miss it. Even more amazing would be the USS Enterprise. If you are on high seas make sure to have a plastic bag in your pocket. I did not get seasick but many tigers did on our last night out. Have a great cruise. You will never forget it.

No need to panic. They do give you ample time for purchasing tickets. It is definitely a don't miss opportunity! It is requested any dates are excluded from public posting of any kind so you should not see anyone discussing actual dates. Have a blast!

Hey Allen,  Nope, I talked with my son recently about it and there hasn't been any discussion about it yet. He is watching out for it so he can get the information out to me ASAP. It would surely be helpful to have some date for planning purposes.

there are tons of posts here about cruises and tons of suggestions....I'd read through the past posts and pay attention to the various discussions with links above.  Regardless of where you fly out of, the general approach to cruises is the same.....

Hi my name is Carol and I am writing on this page to get information for my husband who will be doing the Tiger Cruise.  Our son is currently deployed on the USS Enterprise.  Are there any of you Dads that will be flying out of OHare or Midway for this TC?  If there are could you please message me I have quite a few questions?  Thanks

Did the TC on Abe.  Amazing.

Really small space to live in (me for only two nights - the crew lived out of those tiny racks for 8 months)

The total dedication and competence of our sailors is downright amazing.

Well, I finally got the paperwork in correct format for TC on Abe. I'll be arriving in JAX on 08-03 at 100pm. If anyone is interested in sharing a cab, room, etc let me know.
