Jeffrey how did you receive word that you are "Good to Go"? I have sent my paperwork in last week and my son says as of right now we are going. He said he was told that I might not get to go because they had to drop a few but he would let me know. My husband is set and I have a femail sponsor, it is just a matter of how many beds there are for the females. It is all very exciting! Congratulations!

I must say the Tiger Cruise this summer on the USS Mason was easily one of the coolest tings I have ever done in my life.   Yes Jeffrey as Paul said, you are going to love it.

Excellent FAS, I wish I would have had this earlier this year on the Carl Vinson.  Good advice is to never forget your name tag, it has your berthing location.  You're never lost on a carrier, you just don't know where you are until someone comes along and offers help!!  The ship is basically a series of grids, once you get the hang of it, you can pretty much maneuver on your own (after the first day).

Link to basics of shipboard life. Learn to how to read the bullseyes or at least write down your berthing bullseye. I was temporarily lost one evening coming back from the head.

Jeffrey your sponsor will get with you if there is anything else that is missing. I just got back home from taking the cruise on the George H.W. Bush and it was something I will never to forget.  Be sure you take a camera. And get ready to climb alot of ladders. Have fun.

Thanks for the info Paul. Great stuff. I'm heading down to Mayport for my first "Tiger" and you certainly gave me more info than what I had.. I'll be staying at an airport area hotel, if anybody wants to swap tranportaion plans to the base, let me know.

 Thanks.

Thanks Paul! Although, I went on the Family Day cruise, it's my 1st "Tiger" and I'm expecting a truly fantastic trip!

Craig...if you never been a cruise, you'll have the time of your life!  Check these discussions at http://www.navydads.com/group/tigerorfamilydaycruise/forum/topics/u... and read about the TR's cruise and see the slide shows/video to give an idea of what you'll experience.
