Anyone else staying at the AFRC Hale Koa Hotel?
Ok, dads, I have a question about getting on the pier in HI. I received an email from my son and he says that he will need the usual info, but also needs the car, make, year, tags etc. that we will be driving. We are renting a car, so I won't have that until we arrive in HI. How will I get that info to him in time for us to be put on the list for the homecoming. I'm not concerned about getting on base for the TC, since I hear that the USO will have a shuttle from the airport. We will returning our rental car to the airport on that day, so we will just hop on the shuttle.
Another question about the ship's homecoming day is that he said we will need a sponsor's name. Can I use his name if he is on the ship?

Congrats on your's son graduation from Sub school. Looking forward to meeting everyone on the TC. The excitment is building here.
I have my flights and hotels all set for a two week Navy vacation. First to the Stennis for the TC and once it ports, off to Groton for our other son's graduation from sub school! Guess it goes without saying my wife and I are very proud of our sons!
Will have my laptop with me in Hawaii to keep updated on this sight and will provide my cell to anyone who might like to get together in Honolulu. I know my son and I hope to go to the Arizona while in port.
Phil My son sent me the updated tracker spreadsheet and you are on it approved.

seriously, it's the Navy's way to say thanks to the families of those serving...those cruises have been going on for a long time....the platform is returning to port after deployment anyway.....it costs a minimal amount to carry those proud moms and dads....
