William, When I e-mail Jordan tonight I will ask him if he knows Zach.
HSM-71 is a small Squadron so I am sure they know each other. I will ask Jordan to help Zach call home. :)
Thanks everyone for this information. I will forward this info to Zach, who by the way Douglas, is also an Airman with HSM-71. I Bet they know each other.
My son is on the ship also and he found out you had to buy the phone card from the ship as the one we sent him wouldnt work. Hope you hear from him soon. I know we enjoyed the call we got from him a few days back.
Thanks Douglas. I will pass the info on to my son. I am excited to see if he can follow through with this. We would love to here from him.
Hi William,
My Son Jordan is on the Stennis, he is an Airman with HSM-71. He was able to buy a SIM card for his cell phone that work from their last port of call, once they are underway it no longer works. I believe they can also purchase phone cards that work from the ship.
Hope that helped.
Hi everyone Just joined Navy dads. My Son Zachary is on board and we are so proud of him and all sailors aboard the Stennis. I was reading through some of the messages and noticed that some of you received phone calls from your sailors. Is this a special privilege for some sailors depending on there rate? We have not heard his voice since he left in August. Plus I am looking for some info on the Tiger Cruise.
Our Family hopes all the Families out there of dedicated Stennis personnel had a great Thanksgiving Day. We have some amazing loved ones serving onboard. My son is on his second deployment after returning from his first earlier this year. As hard as it may seem when we don't hear from them, no news is good news. I hear from my son via email and mama from Facebook. Best to all in this Holiday Season!
Hoping everyone had a good Thanksgiving, Jordan called home and that made our Thanksgiving complete. He said he is well, but missed having Turkey Dinner with all the family.
