Yes Kevin, My son advised the same. I am going to pick one up while there.
Sometimes there are not enough female sponsors for all the gals -- moms and such that want to go. Don't be so hard on your wife. She's letting you guys have some bonding time. Enjoy it. As they get older it comes less often.
Sorry your wife did not want to watch your Sailor serve his country, how sad..Her miss. My wife and I are giddy with anticipation of watching our sailors and his fellow Sailors serve. We could care less that there is no hot tub or bar. Our Sailors signed up to serve, not go on a cruise. Bring on the weather, the wind the long lines, who cares. Sign me up.
We (my wife and I) are going one week early to enjoy Hawaii. I will be getting on the USS John Stennis without her as she has decided to fly home after I get on. Where is everyone staying? Are we having a happy hour somewhere? We are staying at the Hyatt Place on Waikiki Beach area. This is going to be great. GO NAVY.
Can't wait to get aboard. I haven't been to sea in over 30+ years. As long as I don't have to stand watches I'll be ok.
I hope to capture the look on his face the first time an F18 takes off from the deck. Should be something to see.
Rob
I'm sorry to say that I will not be able to go on the tiger cruise this time, but Am looking forward to being able to do it in the future. My son still has four years to go, so I'm sure I will get another chance. My wife and 14 year old son Nick are going on the first leg. Never been to that part of the US before, so I know they will have a wonderful time, especially seeing my son Michael in action aboard the carrier. Proud is not an adequate word for how I feel about him and our other brave men and women who serve our country honorably. This will be a once in a lifetime experience for my wife and youngest son. They will cherish these memories forever, and I thank the Navy for allowing us to do this. Your country, your parents, and your God appreciate you for making the world a safer place.
Robert, that is very exciting that your father-in-law is going. What an adventure!
