Good morning!

Can somebody tell me if I can answer Joe his question about the port? Am I allowed?

Comment by Joe on November 16, 2011 at 6:51pm

Mother Always...What port are you speaking about?

Comment by Mother Always on November 16, 2011 at 12:32pm

I received email a while ago... he said he loved that port, that he would like to stay longer...and that he couldn't called me. I wrote to him that the main thing is that he is well.

Thank you for reading my posting!

I belong to navy4 moms group, too and there they wrote what you Laura told me,that the lines for net or phones are really long...I sent my son 2 boxes by oct 25, hope he received them, they usually take 2 weeks...The most important thing is that they are all in good health and having fun!!

Joe:  Lines for net/computer access are really long. They've been known to have to wait about 3 hrs for 15mins of online time. Sometimes with schedules -- like "5 and dimes" (5on and 10 off round the clock), eating, sleeping and making sure you have a clean uniform take precedence over internet/phone time.  They did get an RAS on the 10th, but looks like they're still sorting and handing out mail. Mine is still looking for a couple of pkgs from us.  Different depts seem to have better access to computers than others. Just the way it is. Sometimes different shifts also have more time than others.  The first deploy was harder than the second one.  But, ship communication is better with this one.

I follow flickr.com-photos-stennis74. Photos are often updated ,sometimes daily, sometimes within a couple of days. Last pics were posted 11/5. We haven't got an email in several weeks from our son. We are not worried, just curious, he doesns't email that often. We have sent 2 packages within the past month. Hoped he recieved at least one by this past Veterans Day
