My son called and and is doing great. He is in the process of setting up a military email account.  Sure was good to hear his voice!!!

What is IC?

Comment by Will Wild on August 8, 2011 at 5:27pm

Our son is an IC and we also hear from him via email as well about 3-4 times a week.

Our son is a Nuke , first tour also and we haven't heard from him. That is how he is anyway and we are not worried. Hopefully he has found some friends amongst the 5000 people aboard. We really appreciate Flicker.

We hear from our sailor daily by email.

Have any of you received any communication from your sailor? My son is an AM with the Eightballers assigned to the Stennis and this is his first tour. I am sure he is fine, but my thoughts and prayers are with him.

burial at sea is not an uncommon event....numerous Navy personnel request burial at sea --  you can read about the Navy policy at: http://www.navy.mil/navydata/navy_legacy_hr.asp?id=204

Thank you Tony for that info. The burial at sea? I did not see any additional info about that.
