Congrats Richard I bet you are very proud. I graduated Aug 1978 GL co 106 Div 17 and got to attend a Navy graduation in 2014 and it was the best feeling to be able to go back so I am sure you are very proud to see your daughter back there after 8 years leading the charge. I got on here because my son and his friends all had joined. My son was sent home after a short time due to medical reasons and disclosures but I have kept on here hoping to maybe help with advice but I have found that so much has changed since I was in that I am very little help but I still like to read and hear about the Navy I was once in but will always be a part of. To have your daughter be there as and RDC has to be a really great moment, how proud you must be. Tell her congrats from an "Old Salt Squid". God Bless

Welcome to Richard! I'm sure you'll find as useful, educational and informative as I have. Please explore the site and make some new Navy friends. Be sure to read the discussions add your comments or start a new discussion. Browse through the postings in the various groups or start a new one. I certainly have! If you have any comments, questions or concerns about your sailor and what she is going sure to post them! In my experience someone here can answer your questions or concerns or can point you in the right direction to find out. I'm blessed to have two sailors in the family - my son Eric (AM3) is stationed on the carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) and my daughter Kat (MC3) just completed her five-year enlistment on the carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72). And Richard this is a great place to brag about your sailor as well! So join in, get active, and be sure to let us know how Heather is doing! Please remember that we talk about the Navy here and we must keep the security and safety of our sailors and the fleet in mind at all times. On the right or starboard side of every page is an area we call About This Site. Please take a minute and read through the Operations Security (OPSEC) link for some guidelines as to what we should and should not talk about in a public forum like And stop by the NavyDads offical store-! Show your support for by wearing the latest in NavyDads attire. Best Regards- Paul

Richard, Welcome Aboard!

When my son first enlisted in the Navy I found NavyForMoms in searching for answers to his future. I just knew their had to be a site for dads but found out I was wrong. So I started this site so us dads would also have a place to call home. I'm new at this and hope this site will benefit fathers that follow behind us. So jump right in share concerns, join groups, share info, and show off your Sailor. I'm so glad to find out their are so many proud Navy Dads just like myself. I hope this site benefits you and your family throughout your daughters journey in the Navy. Thank Heather for her service for me and thanks again for joining us.

Sincerely, E.G.
