No More "Sailor in a Box" - From RTC- Posted 5 Sept 2019
Attention families and friends of RTC: Previously, upon arrival to boot camp, recruits would box up their civilian belongings and ship it to their choice of destination. Our new procedure now has those boxes being stored locally and will be returned to the recruits the day before graduation. The new procedure went into effect this week beginning with Div. 409 in Training Group 52.

RTC is making important changes to polices regarding PIR Guest Access as well as Bag Checks and Restriction Policies. Take the time to read thru these and be prepared when you head to Great Lakes for PIR.

no-- after 1 Jan 2013 military and retired military MUST be on the list AND count towards the limit of 4
I am going to re-post what RTC has had posted on FB for awhile now:
Any guest not on the access list will not be allowed in to the graduation ceremony. Children 12 years old and younger and active duty/retired military members with proper military ID do not need to be on the access list.
There are exceptions as we see for the 30 Nov PIR where that age is to 2 years old and military/retired military must be on the list.
MORE IMPORTANTLY also from RTC:
ATTENTION NOVEMBER 30TH, 2012 PIR GUESTS:
On November 30, 2012 fifteen divisions will be graduating, therefore RTC will enforce the following policy:
ALL GUESTS, including Active Duty/Retired Military Personnel and those ages 3 and older must be on the access list. (Children 2 and under do not need to be on the access list)
Individuals not on the access list will NOT be able to enter the drill hall and we do NOT have a standby list.In addition please plan on arriving at least 2 hours before the ceremony, which begins promptly at 9:00 a.m.
Graduation Day Schedule
6:30 am: RTC gate opens to guests.
7:00 am: Ceremonial drill hall doors open to guests.
8:45 am: All guests must be seated.
9:00 am: Pass-In-Review commences.
9:20 am: Divisions arrive.
10:30 am: Pass-In-Review concludes.
This policy will also be enforced for all graduations beginning January 1st, 2013. Thanks to all for your continued support of Recruit Training Command, the Navy's only boot camp!
