No More "Sailor in a Box" - From RTC- Posted 5 Sept 2019

Attention families and friends of RTC: Previously, upon arrival to boot camp, recruits would box up their civilian belongings and ship it to their choice of destination. Our new procedure now has those boxes being stored locally and will be returned to the recruits the day before graduation. The new procedure went into effect this week beginning with Div. 409 in Training Group 52.

We talk about Holiday Routine at Boot Camp - here's the skinny

Sunday/Holiday Routine allows recruits to attend religious services and observe Federal holidays. From 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. recruits are able to: attend religious services, read and study, hygiene, perform uniform upkeep, write and read letters, or clean their rack and personal locker.

Important RTC/PIR Changes

RTC is making important changes to polices regarding PIR Guest Access as well as Bag Checks and Restriction Policies. Take the time to read thru these and be prepared when you head to Great Lakes for PIR.

Our son arrived at BC on 11/25. As of yet we have not received his form letter so we do not know his address. I have contacted his recruiter several times and he said that Jake is not listed yet in the system. Is there anyone else who has this same problem? We want to send him letters, but not sure where to send.
God bless all your sons and daughters.

Paul,
When they get to bootcamp, they are asked about any special talents they have, JROTC experience etc. My son is a tuba player that marched with professional drum and bugle corps as well as his national champion high school marching band. He will probably (I hope) get into the 900 division know as Special Units. I did the same when I went through and we got a few, al beit not many, special privileges. They will perform to probably two PIRs in addition to their own.

We got my sons address today and there wasen't a div#. His recruiter told us he could get it the day after he left, and he did. Just call them and ask if your not sure. He's in SHIP 4 and then the address. Anyone know how or when they assign the div#.?

Hello everyone! Mine left for GL yesterday. He was able to call home at 11p after getting sized for his shoes. We've been waiting since February so I feel like I've read everything and know so much already. Now we are just waiting to see when training will start and how to figure out PIR time.
God bless you all and we'll pray all day every day for our kids!
Anyone just send one December 1st?
