No More "Sailor in a Box" - From RTC- Posted 5 Sept 2019

Attention families and friends of RTC: Previously, upon arrival to boot camp, recruits would box up their civilian belongings and ship it to their choice of destination. Our new procedure now has those boxes being stored locally and will be returned to the recruits the day before graduation. The new procedure went into effect this week beginning with Div. 409 in Training Group 52.

We talk about Holiday Routine at Boot Camp - here's the skinny

Sunday/Holiday Routine allows recruits to attend religious services and observe Federal holidays. From 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. recruits are able to: attend religious services, read and study, hygiene, perform uniform upkeep, write and read letters, or clean their rack and personal locker.

Important RTC/PIR Changes

RTC is making important changes to polices regarding PIR Guest Access as well as Bag Checks and Restriction Policies. Take the time to read thru these and be prepared when you head to Great Lakes for PIR.

Hi all, good evening~

Robert S~ Yes, my son is now in GL and I am exhausted but survived it (I think)! What a day that was! It actually started the night before at the hotel. I took all 5 of my kids (plus a GF) to dinner there so we could all be with Shane. Then the next mornig I went to MEPS and spent a few hours with my son there too and watched him get sworn in! That was very special! He called me from the airport before they left and then text messaged me as soon as they landed in zero degrees Chicago! Brrrr (we are Cali people) LOL He then called me after they arrived at GL. That call lasted all of 10 seconds I think! That was hard!!! He said he would call in about a month. I hope it's not that long. I think I'm still in a bit of shock. Thanks for checking in on me. :)

I hope everyone is doing well! I have a lot of ready to catch up on this weekend on here and N4M too!

Good night all!

my daughter katie called today and said she passed battle stations.
she said 15 people in her division did not pass and have to do it again.
she also said she now has a job she likes, roll call for the new recruits.
her old job was cleaning the supply closet.
she was very hoarse, from yelling, i think.
she gets her orders friday, but she gets to come home christmas eve for a week.
i cant wait to see how my baby has changed

*** GOOD LUCK COTY***
