No More "Sailor in a Box" - From RTC- Posted 5 Sept 2019
Attention families and friends of RTC: Previously, upon arrival to boot camp, recruits would box up their civilian belongings and ship it to their choice of destination. Our new procedure now has those boxes being stored locally and will be returned to the recruits the day before graduation. The new procedure went into effect this week beginning with Div. 409 in Training Group 52.

We talk about Holiday Routine at Boot Camp - here's the skinny
Sunday/Holiday Routine allows recruits to attend religious services and observe Federal holidays. From 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. recruits are able to: attend religious services, read and study, hygiene, perform uniform upkeep, write and read letters, or clean their rack and personal locker.
RTC is making important changes to polices regarding PIR Guest Access as well as Bag Checks and Restriction Policies. Take the time to read thru these and be prepared when you head to Great Lakes for PIR.

Sent my son stuff about hunting. Sent him everything but his beloved duck calls! If you go to PIR and have time, the is a big Bass Pro close by...

thanks so much marvin! ive got some good ones for him. we hunt together and he asked me to keep him up to date and ive got some nice trail cam pics to show him. he will love that!!!

I never had a problem sending such. I sent some jokes that after I mailed them I questioned myself if that was gonna cause a problem. It didnt. Just don't send anything political, or military and it should be OK.

900-number divisions are perfoming divisions...flags, band, choir, drill, etc.
800-number divisions are SEAL and SWCC divisions

What's difference in div? My son is 952 do they have meaning to them or determine something?

My son's PIR was 7/3/13. It depends on the RDC and what is going on. My son was in 900 div and that made a difference on how often they get to call.

Yea Luke. Trust me, no news is good news. I received a call unexpectedly saying Siera wouldn't graduate on time a few days ago, but until you hear differently, she's ok and set to graduate on time.

Well, my SR arrived 9/3 and we got a real phone call on the 14th, which was a surprise. We didn't get a call this week, though a number of divisions in the same TG did get to call. There is no rule to it. It is at the discretion of the RDCs. It is hard, but just remember that if you don't get a call it means your recruit is fit and still on schedule.
