No More "Sailor in a Box" - From RTC- Posted 5 Sept 2019

Attention families and friends of RTC: Previously, upon arrival to boot camp, recruits would box up their civilian belongings and ship it to their choice of destination. Our new procedure now has those boxes being stored locally and will be returned to the recruits the day before graduation. The new procedure went into effect this week beginning with Div. 409 in Training Group 52.

We talk about Holiday Routine at Boot Camp - here's the skinny

Sunday/Holiday Routine allows recruits to attend religious services and observe Federal holidays. From 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. recruits are able to: attend religious services, read and study, hygiene, perform uniform upkeep, write and read letters, or clean their rack and personal locker.

Important RTC/PIR Changes

RTC is making important changes to polices regarding PIR Guest Access as well as Bag Checks and Restriction Policies. Take the time to read thru these and be prepared when you head to Great Lakes for PIR.

I told her if she quits she'll always regret it. Thanks guys for everything! Its been tough to get through but well worth it! You guys are really awesome! Thanks so much for sending her letters. I have sent 4 since she got hurt. 3 this morning and one this evening. She told me there are two letters in the mail for me and for now she can write and send letters each day. Thanks for your help. God bless you all

It was good to know she's not in pain any more. That was my main worry.

Good to hear Cody. Glad you two got to talk. I'm sure getting a few answers was good for you and I'm sure simply hearing your voice and getting your input put her at some ease.

Good to hear that the pain has subsided also. Unfortunately, stress fractures are typically something she'll have to live with. I know my daughter does. Fortunately, the Nave doesn't do a ton of running you did in the Army, so that would benefit her.

Don't be afraid to let her know that you think it's a good idea for her to stay. She needs your opinion right now. You already took care of the part where you let her know you got her back either way. But let her know your opinion, and then remind her it is HER choice, but you support her whatever she does.

With you thinking she's staying, that's good. Sounds like you got yourself a strong woman there man. Way to make her feel better in the time you were given, good job.

Keep us posted and reach out if need be...

Hey guys siera called just now. We talked for 15minutes. She's in no pain anymore. She wanted to ask me if I wanted her to stay and keep going. I told her I couldn't answer that. I told her that no matter her decisions, I'd still love and support her. I think she's gonna stay. It sounds like they gave her the choice to leave.I hope she chooses to stay. She can write and send out letters each day now. So I'll be getting more mail now. I've already got two going out tomorrow. I miss her so much. She sounded discouraged at first but she got off the phone sounding better.
