No More "Sailor in a Box" - From RTC- Posted 5 Sept 2019
Attention families and friends of RTC: Previously, upon arrival to boot camp, recruits would box up their civilian belongings and ship it to their choice of destination. Our new procedure now has those boxes being stored locally and will be returned to the recruits the day before graduation. The new procedure went into effect this week beginning with Div. 409 in Training Group 52.

We talk about Holiday Routine at Boot Camp - here's the skinny
Sunday/Holiday Routine allows recruits to attend religious services and observe Federal holidays. From 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. recruits are able to: attend religious services, read and study, hygiene, perform uniform upkeep, write and read letters, or clean their rack and personal locker.
RTC is making important changes to polices regarding PIR Guest Access as well as Bag Checks and Restriction Policies. Take the time to read thru these and be prepared when you head to Great Lakes for PIR.

Navy outfitters. I purchased several items from navy outfitters on 10/14. I am still waiting for one item. I have emailed them several times. They have not responded. Is anyone admin on this site able to give me any help?

Hi Tom!! Yes...indeed it is!! This sight is amazingly helpful!! The unknownext, as a parent, stinks. Those first couple days are long and very hard. As they say, it does get a little easier....but I have written to her...whenever I think of her. When I feel like texting and remember she's gone momentarily....I write!! Even just a short note has helped! Everyone heals differently....that's what has helped me!! I wish you the very best....congratulations on raising such a brave and selfless son!! Congratulations and welcome!!

My son left today, will arrive at RTC tomorrow night. It's been an emotional 24 hours!

Good morning!! We received our daughters box just now!!! She shipped Nov 22nd...so those of you with son/daughters with same date....our turn for everything we've read has finally arrived!! Thank you again Navydads.com for all the info and support!!!

My daughter shipped on the 16 and we got the form letter this weekend. Her graduation is January 13. Hang in there my oldest daughter has been in the Navy for over two years. It seems like forever in between hearing from them in boot camp but overall itwill go quickly. They are in good hands there and no news is good news.
