No More "Sailor in a Box" - From RTC- Posted 5 Sept 2019
Attention families and friends of RTC: Previously, upon arrival to boot camp, recruits would box up their civilian belongings and ship it to their choice of destination. Our new procedure now has those boxes being stored locally and will be returned to the recruits the day before graduation. The new procedure went into effect this week beginning with Div. 409 in Training Group 52.

We talk about Holiday Routine at Boot Camp - here's the skinny
Sunday/Holiday Routine allows recruits to attend religious services and observe Federal holidays. From 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. recruits are able to: attend religious services, read and study, hygiene, perform uniform upkeep, write and read letters, or clean their rack and personal locker.
RTC is making important changes to polices regarding PIR Guest Access as well as Bag Checks and Restriction Policies. Take the time to read thru these and be prepared when you head to Great Lakes for PIR.

Ours was reduced to only 3 for the 8/9 PIR, My son informed us who was on the final list in a letter he wrote to us.

I thought the letter already contained the names of those on the list. I guess I was confused about that as well.

No worries Bob....The letter has changed a bit from what I'm reading as have the rules. Just a year ago, excess family could wait until all listed guests were seated and then the overage could enter until the seating was full. And it could very well lists how many are allowed now. So I could be mistaken. At least you have streaming video now. Best of luck to all your SR's.

The form letter will always show 4 guest places. You won't know how many guests will be allowed until the RTC web site lists the TG which, I believe is up dated on Tuesdays. The last TG listed is Sept 6th. Jerri in regards to your question about Capt Dyes top 6? that is probably for the 6 award winners for each training group. Never heard it referred to in that manner so its just a guess on my part.

I think they all have a space for 4, but you are not always allowed to bring 4. Are you sure 4 guests are allowed?

@Dan J Douthitt - Thanks a lot for the update. We were hoping to receive the letter Saturday. I guess maybe today! (fingers crossed). I do have a question for you. How many guests did it say were allowed per SR for September 13th?
