Hi Everyone, I'm new to this site. My daughter is in bootcamp currently. Her PIR is Nov 18. She's in Div 901. I'm a a member of Navy For Moms and was asked to post the message below from Sarge.

The Sundance Saloon in conjunction with Veterans Transportation Network is hosting the first Meet and Greet for Navy Dads and Navy Moms on October 6^th 2011 from 7:00PM until closing. Free transportation will be provided to the Sundance Saloon which is located in the Fountain Square Shopping center (less than 3 minutes from the Hotels). Transportation to and from the following hotels is free, Marriott Courtyard Waukegan, Marriott Spring Hill Suites Waukegan, Marriott Residence Inn Waukegan, Holiday Inn Express Waukegan, and the Candlewood  Suites in Waukegan.  For the Ramada and other hotels the rate is very fair. Buffett Food is complimentary and will be provided by the Sundance Saloon.  Every person attending will be given a coupon for their graduating sailor for a free meal this weekend at Trattoria-Pomigliano restaurant located at 600 N. The evening will be very informative and fun, yes fun.  Brief subjects covered are:  what to expect at graduation, do’s and don’ts, how to get to graduation quicker than others, places to go and see, and how to save money while in the Chicago land area. Sarge and his partner Gene will be available throughout the night for any questions you may have.

Now I did say fun. The Sundance Saloon will provide a DJ for entertainment and the free buffet food.  There will be dancing and songs by request. This is a country saloon so bring your cowboy hats. The Saloon is actually within walking distance from the hotels mentioned below.  If you prefer you can also order food off their award winning menu. 

Your Sailors, like Gene and I are serving our United States with honor. Gene and I have combined over 26 years in the Armed Forces. As veterans we know what these young men and women have gone through and where they are heading.  Let’s make it a FUN AND INFORMATIVE night.  We will reserve subject material for those who arrive late.

RTC DOES NOT delay or postpone PIR for a division....a recruit may get pushed back if they fail an aspect of the training, but the division does not

Hi Guys,

     Just heard from my son. He called needing more info for his background checks (assuming for his rated clearance). He sounds tired, but he said he starting to feel better after all the shots they are given.

     He also sounded somewhat disappointed with his division (Div  369,ship 12), they received 3 demerits and had to complete an extra hour of IT(intensive training) yesterday. He said that there is talk about their graduation being delayed until after Thanksgiving. Supposedly some of the recruits keep talking and aren't getting their stuff done right. He knows that the Chiefs & Petty officers aren't fooling when they say they have to get it together. I suggested that he or someone else needs to step up and get the other recruits tow the line. He is a former athlete and understands what working together means, I told him to start convincing the others. He always took the attitude that he should shut up, listen to the yelling and then just go out and do what the coach said. He told me he thinks that "some of the recruits think of Boot camp as going to summer camp and they aren't taking it seriously, as their job". My son is a strong supporter for doing the right thing but not always a vocal leader. If your child has this skill ask them to step up and I know my son Patrick would have his/her back.

    If anyone has heard from your recruit I would be anxious to hear what they have to say.

got form letter today son says all is fine pir is nov the tenth which is the thursday before veterans day cool beans ship 3 div 368

Gary  Her military dependent Id will get her on base to shop at NEX or commissary but will not get her into PIR hall  Ask your son to check with his fellow recuits if anyone has only two guest on their list to add her name to their guest list

Dependant ID is not the same as military ID.....they'll try to fit in exta guests, but it might on a "as space allows basis"

I have a question regarding PIR guests. We know there's a 4-guest maximum on the guest list. My son's girlfriend has a current and valid Military Dependent ID. Would she be able to attend the ceremony without "counting" as one of the four maximum on the guest list?

Ship 3 Div 336 ...upcomming PIR date OCTOBER 7th. Planning on taking lots of pics and will share to anyone who is interested. Let me know! i Would also love to see your photos on the same date.
