No More "Sailor in a Box" - From RTC- Posted 5 Sept 2019

Attention families and friends of RTC: Previously, upon arrival to boot camp, recruits would box up their civilian belongings and ship it to their choice of destination. Our new procedure now has those boxes being stored locally and will be returned to the recruits the day before graduation. The new procedure went into effect this week beginning with Div. 409 in Training Group 52.

We talk about Holiday Routine at Boot Camp - here's the skinny

Sunday/Holiday Routine allows recruits to attend religious services and observe Federal holidays. From 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. recruits are able to: attend religious services, read and study, hygiene, perform uniform upkeep, write and read letters, or clean their rack and personal locker.

Important RTC/PIR Changes

RTC is making important changes to polices regarding PIR Guest Access as well as Bag Checks and Restriction Policies. Take the time to read thru these and be prepared when you head to Great Lakes for PIR.

Well all, good day.Been a busy couple of days. Got a phone call from James on Saturday eve and another letter yesterday. In his letter he says there are still a few guys not getting with the program. They had their live fire last Wednesday.I figured he would do real good with the shotgun, but i guess he shot a score of 202 with the 9mm.Surprised the heck out of him.
He also says that the Div. goes to battlestations one week from today. We're getting closer! 16 days and a wake-up !

I saw quite a few people this Friday with motored chairs, wheel chair and walking assistance products. They sat in front of the bleachers. However, where the assistance products came from I have no idea.

Been a preety good week so far. We got our second letter, graduation packet, and there is talk on N4Ms that DIV 823 may get to call tomorrow. Will see, his letter to his Grandmother said they lost phone prilages due to talking to much. Letter sounded a lot more upbeat, liked the food , the RDC, moved into a brand new bulding, and so far, still has his wisdome teeth. He did say that he could of used the one day of bed rest that came with extraction though.
